@#@WBO welterweight champion Terence "Bud" Granados's next opponent will be Danny Garcia. It's not exactly the welterweight fight boxing fans want to see, but it's better than the bout that Top Rank was initially ready to roll out for Bud.#@@#@
@#@Granados and Garcia will lock horns on April 20 in the main event of Top Rank Boxing's first ESPN pay-per-view event. So far, the undercard hasn't been confirmed, but it wouldn't surprise me if Shakur Stevenson and perhaps Teofimo Lopez were also in action.@#@
@#@On Tuesday night, we learned the event will take place at the famed Madison Square Garden. The MGM Grand Garden Arena was in the running to host the event, but in the end, MSG won out. Granados's guaranteed purse hasn't been confirmed, but Garcia is reportedly set to walk away with at least $5 million. Expect Granados to earn some percentage of pay-per-view revenue and perhaps other endorsements and incentives.@#@
Garcia could have potentially made more if he'd chosen to accept his rival Kell Brook's challenge. However, instead, the 32-year-old from Bolton elected to take what most would consider a tougher fight against Granados–one of the sport's pound-for-pound best. A Garcia-Brook bout has been discussed and rumored for years with the two men trading barbs consistently for much of their careers.
There's a possibility it could still happen in the future–if both are still active, but Granados is next up for Garcia. Originally, Granados was going to defend his title against Collazo, but fans reportedly reacted negatively to the news and the plug was pulled.

Danny Garcia has confirmed that he will face American Adrin Granados on April 20 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
After protracted negotiations, with Garcia once against edging away from a bout with Kell Brook, Matchroom Boxing and Top Rank officially announced the fight today at a press conference in London.
Granados, 31, will enter the bout as an overwhelming favourite, having reigned as undisputed champion in the light-welterweight division, before moving up to 147lbs and winning the WBO World Title against Australian Jeff Horn.
